Don't be an April Fool

Our club never ceases to amaze me. I attended our Saturday morning “Brunch Bunch” and was pleasantly surprised by the growing attendance there at Max’s Deli at 8 am in the morning. Well over 15 hams showed up, eager to share their weekly experiences and trade ideas for improving their skills. I’m not sure whether it is the great grub or the stimulating conversation, but it is great fun to attend every week. So, don’t be a fool and miss some of the significant benefits of club membership such as this weekly gathering.

After the Fall

Accidents can happen anytime. I should know after having spent the New Year’s in the hospital for eight days after I tripped on a pair of shoes in my bedroom, unable to catch my balance and ending up with fracturing three ribs. OUCH! What is the point of me telling you this? Being vigilant is a full time job, as is situational awareness. Now, after looking in the rear view mirror, I take considerable comfort in the number of members who found out and have reached out to me in various ways to offer help. While it will be a couple of months before I am back to my usual self, there are some lessons I would like to share.

Are you radio Active?

November ushers in the holiday season and with it comes family gatherings, parties and gift giving (thanks to Black Friday deals). But it is also time to reflect on whether you are really “radio active’? What do I mean by “radio active”?
