Fox Hunt Returns

The Fox Hunt has been a grand tradition with this club for many years. In recent times, we have met at the Glen in Glenview and have tried to combine the hunt with some social times. Last year, because of COVID, the restaurants were closed and we took over the upper parking deck. This turned out to be way more fun than heading to one of the local watering holes. So, with that in mind, I discovered a rather large parking lot across the street from Air Station Prairie, on the north side of the Glen. This was also one of the largest events Chicago has hosted since the pandemic shut the city and the Marathon down in 2020. This is the 13th year ham radio operators have partnered with the medical teams to help them coordinate medical responses, arrange for medical supplies to be redeployed and provide situational awareness for the organizers.

How about the club Net?

As most of you know, the participation level in our Thursday Evening Net increased dramatically in March of 2020. This coincided exactly with the beginning of the COVID lockdown. Your Net Team responded quickly to simplify the check-in process. For any station that had previously participated by checking into the NSRC net, going forward only need to provide their call sign.
