June, 2023 Blog

June is a very special month for NS9RC. All hands on deck! The preparations for Field Day has arrived. June 24-25 with Friday, June 23rd for setup at Clarkson Park in Northfield, IL. So mark your calendars and set aside time to come out to help us make this the best Field Day ever. We still need people to help setup, tear down, and operate day and night starting on Friday afternoon, with the initial setup of our antenna arrays; with a catered lunch from Portillos to start things off for those that help out.

By now, you should have made your intentions know to Marty, WD9GYM about volunteering and or attending this jam packed weekend. This is also a family affair so bring your friends, bring your family and most certainly bring your children. Saturday we begin operating in the early afternoon and at 5 pm we will have a catered picnic by Lou Malnati’s which will include salad, chicken wings, two types of pasta, and multiple selections of deep dish pizza (yum!). For the latest information go to our club website for details.

Since this the club’s largest group activity, please make an effort to help support it. The public is also invited to FD activities both Saturday and Sunday. There will be ample time to operate, see our club in action and introduce our hobby to friends and family.

With the summer months upon us, why not come out to Hams in the Park, or join us at the Fox Hunt next month. It’s never been a better time to be a Ham.
